Money behaviors often top resolution lists due to individuals’ dissatisfaction with their level of savings, uncontrolled spending, and inability to properly manage finances. During the Facebook Live event, Kay will discuss how people looking to improve their money management in 2018 can succeed.

“Feeling out of control is unsettling and frustrating, and it’s easy to fall into this terrible state of mind when it comes to money – particularly this time of year,” said Kay. “The Facebook Live opportunity with Reuters Money is an excellent opportunity for people to learn how they can take control of their money life in 2018 by making small, manageable shifts in behavior.”

During the event, viewers are encouraged to ask questions for Kay to answer live. The video will be archived on the Reuters Money Facebook page as well as Kay’s own Facebook. Kay previously partnered with Reuters Money for several Twitter chats, where he joined other financial advisers to address viewers’ money questions in real time.

An early leader in the financial life planning movement, Kay believes most people don’t fully understand their relationship with money and, unfortunately, financial advisers are generally not asking the right questions or truly listening to their clients. He established Financial Life Focus on the belief that advisers should keep their focus on what their clients find meaningful and help them align their values and their money.
