Michael F. Kay Ranked #6 on Investopedia’s List of Top 100 Most Influential Advisors

New Jersey-Based Kay Recognized For Spreading His Message of Financial Life Planning

Michael F. Kay, author of The Feel Rich Project and founder of the firm Financial Life Focus, today was named sixth on Investopedia’s list of top 100 most influential financial advisors. Investopedia, the premier online source of trusted financial information and services, announced the second annual INVESTOPEDIA 100, a ranking of leading financial advisors based on social, digital and event influence.

Investopedia’s content sciences team analyzed financial advisors based on their presence on social media platforms, traditional media outlets and blogs as well as their marketing efforts to rank the top 100.

“I am honored to be included on Investopedia’s list of Top 100 Financial Advisors and to know my message of transforming your relationship with money is resonating,” said Kay.

A pioneer in the financial life planning movement, Kay’s approach helps him uncover his clients’ money mindsets. He established his fee-only firm on the belief that advisors should first focus on what their clients value versus the size of their portfolio.

“While many publishers rank advisors based on their client base or assets under management, we wanted to celebrate advisors who have dedicated their time to educating investors,” said Investopedia CEO David Siegel. “This is about more than followers: we set out to identify advisors like Michael F. Kay who are influential leaders and are passionate about financial education, like we are.”

Award Criteria

The INVESTOPEDIA 100 was created by analyzing the presence and impact of financial advisors across social media channels, TV and radio, conferences, and their own blogs and websites. To conduct this analysis, we looked at their frequency of posts and appearances, number of followers, reader engagement, and citations of their work by other advisors, consumers and the financial media. Investopedia’s editorial team reviewed the results, researched each advisor under consideration, and made the final determination.
